Reduce Server Energy Use Without Compromising Performance

Most servers consume 50-70% of peak power even when they are not busy.

ServerOptix fixes this by matching server power settings to live workload demand, leading to up to £285k annual energy savings and 650 tonnes of CO₂ emission reduction without affecting performance. Request a demo today to get started

See Your Potential Savings

Every data centre is different. To see how these savings translate to your data centre in your local pricing, carbon intensity, and workload, use our energy savings calculator below.

Server Energy Savings Calculator

Optional: Data Centre Capacity

Assumptions:

  • Average server draw: 300 W (≈2,628 kWh/year/server)
  • Estimated 30% reduction in server energy usage
  • For every 100 kWh saved in server usage, ~71.4 kWh saved in cooling
  • Regional electricity costs as provided; actual costs may vary

We’ve prepared a whitepaper with practical guidance to help you improve data centre energy efficiency. Download it below to access detailed insights and actionable recommendations.

FAQs

Will this affect performance?

No. ServerOptix is designed to reduce wasted power without compromising workloads by monitoring demand in real time and adjusting CPU power states within defined guardrails. If utilisation moves outside agreed limits, the system can roll back to default settings.

Does data leave our network?

No. ServerOptix can run fully on-premises, with no cloud dependency and no telemetry leaving your site. Logs, telemetry, decisions, and control actions stay inside your environment by default. Optional cloud dashboarding can be used for wider estate reporting, but the control loop doesn’t depend on it.

How long until we see results?

You can start seeing reductions as soon as ServerOptix is enabled. For example, in WWT testing, power draw dropped immediately across all tested servers once the solution was activated. For a clearer view of estate-wide savings, you’ll usually compare a baseline period against an active optimisation period.

How are savings verified?

Savings are measured against baseline power use, then tracked through live server telemetry, energy efficiency metrics, carbon data, and cost reporting. Results can also be checked against facility-side readings such as PDU data.

How do we know what ServerOptix is doing, and can we audit it?

ServerOptix gives operations, engineering, and compliance teams visibility into optimisation activity. Each action should be logged while optimisation is enabled, giving your team a clear record of what changed and when. That creates an audit trail without needing to maintain a separate manual register.

Who controls ServerOptix?

Control remains with your IT and SRE teams. Access is governed through role-based controls under ISO 27001, and authorised users can pause or disable optimisation at any point. When they do, the system reverts cleanly.
