Prepare Your Edge Device for QiO Foresight
What this guide helps you do
This quick-start guide explains the customer-side preparation required before QiO installs and configures QiO Foresight Edge.
It covers the basic prerequisites, including:
- the edge device
- internet connectivity
- PLC or site network connectivity
- remote access setup
Once these are in place, QiO completes the remaining installation and configuration remotely.
Before your installation session
- Edge device is powered on
- Device has internet or approved remote access connectivity
- Device has a second network connection to the PLC or site network
- PLC-side IP address has been confirmed
- Remote access tool is installed or ready to use
- Remote access details have been shared with QiO
- Local IT approval has been completed, where required
What Good Looks Like
Your site is ready when the edge device is:
- powered on and available for use
- connected to the internet or approved remote access network
- connected to the PLC or site network on the correct IP range
- accessible to QiO through an approved remote access method
Once this is confirmed, QiO can proceed with software installation, VPN configuration where required, and application setup.
Remote access options
QiO can work with remote access tools already approved and commonly used within your organisation.
Examples include DWAgent, TeamViewer, AnyDesk, UltraViewer, NoMachine, RustDesk, and similar remote connectivity applications.
