Pat Johnson CEO

Pat Johnson, CEO of QiO Technologies, has over three decades of experience in the data center industry. His career began in the mid-90s with a family-run software business, later merging into American Power Conversion (APC) in 1997. This led to key roles at APC, Schneider Electric, and Vertiv, where he excelled in managing large product portfolios and global teams. His expertise spans continents including China, North America, India, Croatia, and Mexico.

Deeply committed to customer engagement, Johnson focuses on understanding and addressing customer needs, fostering collaborative relationships, and creating innovative solutions. At QiO, he drives growth and innovation in the data center sector, leveraging his extensive experience. Holding a bachelor's degree in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Rolla, Johnson is also passionate about building positive organizational culture and meaningful partnerships. His leadership is marked by a blend of innovation, relationship-building, and commitment to positive change in the industry and communities.

Tom Millican CFO

Tom Millican leads the company’s finance and operations functions, focussing on strategy, performance optimisation, and value creation to enhance the organisation’s overall performance, productivity, and profitability.

Tom previously held leadership roles at Fnality UK, an ‘on-chain’ payment system for wholesale banking, V-Nova, a forerunner of video compression solutions utilising AI for the media ecosystem and Geniac, an integrated SaaS platform providing specialist business advice to startups.

Tom qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland in 2017 and as a CFA Charterholder (CFA) with the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts in 2018.

Gary Chandler VP Research

Gary Chandler, Vice President of Research at QiO, focuses on driving the forefront of innovation in the realm of Research and Development. With a distinguished career spanning 25 years at Rolls-Royce, where he developed real-time safety-critical control systems for aero-engines,

Gary now dedicates his expertise to researching emerging technologies, managing intellectual property through patents, and analyzing market trends. His deep knowledge and innovative approach, honed through initiatives like 'Lean Product Development' and the 'Internet of Things', continue to influence QiO's strategic direction in technology development.

Kevin Dunlap brings over a quarter-century of expertise in the Data Center market to his role as Vice President of Product Management at QiO Technologies. His distinguished career includes a transformative tenure at Vertiv as Vice President, Global Rack and Thermal Edge, where he spearheaded product development, lifecycle management, and strategic initiatives. Kevin's profound impact at Schneider Electric and APC-MGE, leading efforts in cooling product management and business strategy, has cemented his reputation as a visionary leader. His early experiences at Systems Enhancement Corporation, culminating in a pivotal role at APC following an acquisition, showcases his adaptability and strategic acumen.

At QiO Technologies, Kevin's deep-rooted skills in product marketing, acquisition integration, and market analysis are pivotal in advancing the company's mission towards innovative, AI-driven solutions for energy efficiency in the industrial and data center sectors. His leadership is not just about elevating QiO's market position but also about driving ethical and sustainable practices in the technology domain.

Kristina Flickinger VP Marketing

Kristina brings a robust track record of over 15 years in marketing and product marketing in technology and SaaS to her current role at QiO Technologies. With a successful launch of the Avayler software brand at Halfords behind her, Kristina has proved her mettle in various high-caliber roles. At Avayler, she led marketing initiatives that underpinned the company’s commitment to a customer-centric solution, automating service delivery across numerous sectors. Her strategic influence was further demonstrated at REPL Group, a retail technology consultancy, where her efforts contributed to Accenture’s acquisition, and at IFS, a global leader of ERP, EAM and service management software, where she was instrumental in achieving a leader's quadrant ranking in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Field Service Management.

Kristina's impact extends to her advocacy for allyship and marketing mentorship, where she champions the use of privilege to foster inclusive environments and drive societal progress. Her expertise is not only in elevating brands but also in ethical leadership and mentoring, integrating corporate success with community advancement.

Gary Bourton VP Transformation & PMO

Gary Bourton is responsible for Customer Success & Delivery at QiO. His global team ensures that we meet and exceed the needs of our customers and get them to value in the quickest time possible. He also serves on the Board of Governors at Long Road Sixth Form College, where he sits on the Audit Committee. Additionally, he volunteers weekly for Cambridge City Food Bank.

Gary brings extensive leadership experience from multiple sectors, including IT Services, Building Services, Building Energy Management and most recently in the Industrial sector, where he worked for an Industrial IoT provider as Global SVP for Customer Success and Revenue. His experience also comes from operating in SMEs, Enterprises and Startups.

Gary is a certified Customer Success Manager, Project Manager and Non-Executive Director. He attended Loughborough Business School, where he studied Management & Leadership.

Cameron Conn Head of Engineering, Data Center Product

Cameron brings a distinguished academic background with a Master’s degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from Oxford University to his role at QiO Technologies. His thesis explored the practical application of AI to enhance real-world processes. At QiO, Cameron has been pivotal in driving the development and integration of algorithms into core products, particularly within the data center industry. He has driven the development of the data centre product, which earned the “Innovative Product of the Year” award at Data Centre World. Cameron's expertise was further recognized when he was ranked 2nd by Data Centre Magazine in their “Ones to Watch” under 30s category.

Cameron's influence extends beyond technical skill; he actively promotes innovation and the integration of ethical considerations into technological development. His vision encompasses not only elevating business performance but also creating environments that prioritize inclusivity and societal progress.

Mark Robinson Board Member

Mark Robinson has over 28 years of investing and energy industry experience. For the past 10 years, Mark has led investments in sustainability focused hard-tech solutions as a Founder and Managing Director at Wave Equity Partners.

An industry veteran, Mark is regarded as a trusted professional and thoughtful collaborator. Mark’s key responsibilities include building teams at WAVE and the companies we invest in. The passion and entrepreneurial spirit that move Mark forward helps inspire others to achieve their goals.

Prior to founding Wave, Mark was a Managing Director at VIMAC Ventures where he invested in IT startups. Before that, he was a senior member of a new management team that was integral in turning around Dynapower/Stratopower (a division of General Signal).  Mark’s background has led him to be an expert in developing business models, identifying talent and sourcing high-caliber (complementary) leadership.

Rebecca Ranich Board Member

Rebecca Ranich, President of Exenico LLC, stands out for her strategic acumen in the energy sector, offering 30+ years of international expertise in investment and risk management. At Deloitte Consulting, she led Energy and Sustainability Advisory Services, addressing energy and climate challenges. Her prior role at Michael Baker Corporation involved overseeing major energy projects in Russia, Europe, and the Caspian, totaling over $40 billion.

Currently, Rebecca chairs the Governance Committee on the National Fuel Gas Board and the GTI Energy Board, while advising WAVE Equity Partners, leveraging her insight into sustainable energy practices and disruptive technology to enhance high-risk infrastructure investments. Her vision and leadership continue to drive the industry forward.

Dr. Samer serves as the President of BFG International. Dr. Samer joined the firm in 1992 and took over management at BFG International and oversaw its growth and development into a world-class manufacturing and engineering firm.

From 1990 to 1992, Dr. Samer advised the Minister of Industry in Bahrain on industrial development. He is the Member of Board of Directors of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company B.S.C., Gulf Air, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, BFG International and Ilium. Dr. Samer served as a Director of Gulf Air Company G.S.C.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee Professor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989. He wrote the first web client and server in 1990. His specifications of URIs, HTTP and HTML were refined as Web technology spread.

Sir Tim is the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which oversees the technical standards development of the Web.

Sir Tim is the founder and a Director of the World Wide Web Foundation which was launched in 2009 to coordinate efforts to further the potential of the Web to benefit humanity.

He is a Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he co-leads the Decentralized Information Group (DIG). He is also a Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Oxford, UK. He is President of and founded the Open Data Institute in London.

In 2017, Sir Tim was awarded the ACM A.M. Turing Prize, called the “Nobel Prize of Computing” and considered one of the most prestigious awards in Computer Science.

Dick Cashin CEO, One Equity Partners

Dick Cashin founded One Equity Partner in 2001 and is the President based in New York and a member of the Investment Committee. He has over 36 years of private equity investing experience and a strong performance track record across various industries and markets. He has been closely involved in all of OEP’s prior investments and was a member of the Investment Committee during OEP’s 14 years within JPMorgan. Dick is a member of the Board of Directors of Genband and Titan International.

Prior to founding OEP, Dick was with Citigroup Venture Capital from 1980-2000 and served as President from 1994-2000. He is a Trustee of the American University in Cairo, Boys Club of New York, Brooklyn Museum, Central Park Conservancy, Jazz at Lincoln Center, National Rowing Foundation, and Newport Festivals Foundation. Dick is active in inner-city educational initiatives, Harvard fundraising and has served as Co-Chairman of his Harvard class for over 35 years. In 1976 and 1980, Dick was a member of the U.S. Olympic Rowing Teams and was a world champion in 1974. 

Dick attended Harvard University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in East Asian Studies. Following a one-year fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1976, he worked at Jardine Matheson in Hong Kong. In 1980, he completed his M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.

Carl-Peter Forster started his career at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant in 1982. After four years, he joined BMW in Munich, becoming a member of the Executive Board in 1999 as Head of Global Manufacturing.

In 2001, he joined the European division of General Motors and became Managing Director of Opel and Vice President of GM Europe. In 2006 he became CEO and President of GM Europe and joined the parent company’s Global Automotive Strategy Board. After leaving General Motors, he became Group CEO at Tata Motors, including full responsibility for the Jaguar Land Rover.

From 2013 to 2019, Carl-Peter Forster was Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Geely Group, holding board positions at Volvo Cars Group, Gothenburg, Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd, Hong Kong, as well as CEVT, the Geely engineering centre in Gothenburg and Chairman of The London Electric Vehicle Company (formerly The London Taxi Company)

Carl-Peter Forster is currently Chairman of Chemring Plc, Chairman of the Shareholder Committee of Hella KGaA; and a member of the boards of IMI Plc., Babcock Plc, The Mobility House AG, Gordon Murray Design Ltd., Kinexon GmbH, Clear Motion Ltd., Envisiscs Ltd., and LeddarTech Ltd.

A technology and business visionary, Baz has held executive leadership positions at GE (CTO Cloud), Emerson Electric (EVP, Emerson Network Power; Chief Architect, Emerson Electric) and Invensys, now part of Schneider (Chief Architect). Baz has brought to market leading software products from idea to industry standard, with six industrial software patents and winning a number of prestigious industry awards.

With over 30 years of technology experience across the UK, US and Asia Baz has a proven track-record of developing software platforms and industrial applications at scale through the architecture and design of pioneering technologies. Baz holds a MSc in computer science.

Rosemary Leith Non-Executive Director, YouGov PLC

Rosemary is a Non-Executive Director of YouGov plc, an international online Market Research and Data Analytics company. She also currently advises and invests in a number of technology businesses in Europe and North America including those operating in the Data Analytics, Internet of Things and Financial Technology arenas.

Rosemary is a Trustee of the National Gallery (London) and a Fellow at Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society, most recently authoring an Executive Education Course for Board Chairs and Non-Executive Directors on CyberSecurity.

Rosemary has been the Chair of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on the Future of Internet Security and is a member of the Advisory Boards of Infinite Analytics (Boston and Mumbai), Glasswing Capital (Boston), a Member of Raspberry Pi Foundation (overseeing commercial operations of Raspberry Pi), Queen’s University School of Business, Canada, Wolfson College, Oxford and University of the Arts London. She is a regular attendee and contributor to TED and the World Economic Forum.
