QiO Introduction
We are a Series A technology company on a mission to help energy intensive industrial organisation to stay competitive by improving their asset and process performance leading to improved outcomes such as increased productivity and output, improved uptime and reduced energy consumption & carbon emissions. We deploy our configurable and scalable A.I. software platform to deliver real business outcomes for our customers.
Role and Responsibilities
QiO is seeking a hands‑on implementation specialist who thrives on the factory floor, wiring sensors, integrating industrial control systems and proving that AI can move production KPIs in the real world. As an Industrial IoT Solutions Delivery Engineer, you will:
- Lead end‑to‑end deployment of QiO’s edge‑to‑cloud platform—from hardware installation and network configuration to model roll‑out and operator training.
- Integrate with diverse control‑system environments (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi), ensuring secure data acquisition and closed‑loop optimisation.
- Execute pilots, benchmark energy‑ and uptime‑improvement, and guide customers through scale‑up across multiple lines or sites.
- Troubleshoot live systems, applying root‑cause analysis and structured problem‑solving (8D, DFSS) to guarantee sustained performance.
- Capture field insights and feed them back to Product & Engineering, accelerating roadmap cadence and deployment toolkits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Deployment & Integration
- Plan site readiness, supervise installation of gateways, sensors and comms infrastructure; commission edge devices running Docker/K3s micro‑services.
- Configure data pipelines via OPC UA, Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP; validate timestamp fidelity and historian mapping.
- Implement secure network zones, firewalls and VPN tunnels between OT and cloud per IEC 62443 best practice.
- Pilot Execution & Performance Tuning
- Collect baseline metrics, apply QiO optimisation models, and verify energy/OEE improvements against target savings.
- Work with data‑science team to retrain or fine‑tune models when process drift or seasonality is detected.
- Production Roll‑out & Support
- Develop automated deployment scripts (Ansible, Terraform, Helm) and CI/CD pipelines for repeatable multi‑site roll‑outs.
- Provide tier‑2/3 support, incident post‑mortems and preventive maintenance recommendations based on platform insights.
- Customer Enablement & Documentation
- Deliver operator training, build SOPs and quick‑reference guides; ensure site teams can interpret dashboards and act on AI recommendations.
- Maintain detailed “as‑built” documentation, asset lists and network diagrams for each customer environment.
